This is some next level rental spec here. Those window switches are legitimately blanks because the windows Do. Not. Open.

Waaaa! What car?

WTF is this sorcery...
What is this car?

That’s impressive. I haven’t seen non-opening windows on anything newer than a few really bad 1980s cars.

2 door Yaris? Those switches look a lot like the ones in the Prius C I drive for work

Broken, or fake buttons?
![]() 10/09/2019 at 23:06 |

Fake buttons. The ones on the individual doors don’t do anything either.

Mirage sedan.

It was so bad I WISH it was a Yaris. Nope, a Mitsubishi Mirage G4

Huh. That's mental.

I’ve rented cars shitty enough to have crank windows over the course of my career, but never non-operating windows. I like to drive with the windows open but you need more than one open to avoid the helicopter effect so a/c it was.

Mirage. I didn’t know they made cars this bad.

It made a Tercel look fast.

At least the didn’t put a child safety lock button on

When even a window crank is too expensive...

Also does it have A/C?

I think something was broken. The Mirage has windy windows on the base, I’m not sure if anyone has looked it up yet but I think they should open

I found the rear window motor on eBay. If the part exists it’s probably in that car. I can’t image a company making a car with fix windows in a passenger area. Seems like a law suit waiting to happen. I’m guessing they are just broken, or maybe the child safety lock is in a real dumb place.
Also Car and driver lists Power Rear window still as a standard feature on the G4 Mirage

Doug DeMuro will pay you, like, at least $5 to review this car.

From what I could find on the Mitsu Canada website the front two should open even on the base model sedan and the hatch

I know you hate it now, but I recently became aware that someone at Dodge decided to re-badge these as a Dodge Attitude in Mexico.

None of the window buttons worked on an y window besides the driver. Trust me, I checked. I mean, this car was shitty enough that it’s possible they all broke in 32k miles, but they were also all blank switches.

Thank god, yes, because I was in Florida.

I wouldn’t put it past Advantage to have ordered them in bulk without working windows or to have disabled them all themselves. I’ve rented a mirage before and the last one wasn’t great but this was appalling.

I’m in another state in a Nissan Frontier now. That’s it’s own level of interesting.

*standing in parking lot looking forlornly at car*
passerby: You okay? What is it?
sg: It’s a Mirage.
